The Collings Foundation of Stow MA has huge collections of antique cars, racing cars and military aircraft. Now we learn that they have acquired a very large tank collection from California.

Collings is an "educational institution". Some say it is a rich man's private collection with a good accountant and even a better lawyer. It is open to the public three times a year. You can have a ride in one of their WW-II aircraft for a hefty fee. Planes take off and land on a grass strip.
Word is that they plan on auctioning off come of the collection to pay for the museum they plan on utilizing.
I hear the Stow planning board is not amused. The land where the Foundation is located is zoned Residential.
