Post by: Bri on March 30, 2017, 10:46:25 PM
Not a lot of chatter here so far for the next Fest. Anyone besides me looking forward to it?

Yup!   Will be there with the same setup as in the fall, including the monitors. Looking forward it because that would mean that it's "officially" spring. The way things have gone this spring it's a good thing that the 'fest is later, now we just need the snow to STOP and the sun to come out!  8)

I'll be there, in all likelihood. Will bring the Big Red Farfisa™, plus my usual accoutrement of claviers de fromage, errm, cheesy keyboards. I'll also be willing to wander up to the mic, if you can stand it. See yas there!

Fantastic Rick!
Adam Caldow and Bill McGrath will be psyched I'm sure.
I plan on being there. Might bring some new toys to play with.

Is anyone bringing any actual talent to the fest?
Ben, Do you think you could give me a little more "talent" in my monitor mix?

As long as we're more careful than this guy, I think we'll be fine:

I asked about the "Talent Option" when I bought the new mixer, unfortunately the only ones they have available were made in China and did not integrate well. Since support was outsourced to India, I was concerned about being able to troubleshoot problems in a noisy environment.

Well then..
There's gotta be a mic out there that can make me sound like a gerbil's being boiled in honey BBQ sauce.
Right now I'm looking for the Whole-ee Grail guitar pick to make me play like I got 20 fingers on each hand.
So far I'm all thumbs. Sure it's a plus for hitch-hiking, not so much for playing.

Can anyone yodel "Flight of the bumble bee" in a reggae 5/17 time? Tuned down to G# Maj-9 b5 of course...
By the way Cowbell is so yesterday. Triangle is so "the Shit" now with the Webertude world wide superhighway internet savvy millennial generation. Can't wait to hear that solo.

Wha Hey!!

I think that the Flailing Musical Arm-Pit Choir has some fine talent.
Their song Schwinging In The Drain in Cb - In 7-1/2 / Eleventeen mind you, gets any crowd rowing.

So for the past three weeks, work has totally sucked out all of my intended practice time. >:(

I still want to get something out of what I previously got to work on though.

The rest is what it will be.

  • Adam V. - You're going to get David Bowie - Suffragette City whether you like it or not. I'll be playing guitar. Start boning up on the lyrics. I'll provide some accurate ones that day (verbatim)
Awesome! Why not some other Bowie tunes as well, as a tribute? Ziggy Stardust, The Man Who Sold The World, Diamond Dogs, whatever. I'll have to see if I can source an orange wig on short notice, of course..........  ;D

I'm just a bass player that dabbles in guitar.

I'm bummed. I cracked a few ribs in a car wreck. The Doc sez no rock and roll for a while - especially if there is cowbell. I will miss this one.
Have a great time and I will see y'all in the fall.

John,

Major Bummer!

We hope your recovery is fast!

We'll save some extra cowbell for you in the fall too!  ;)

Cowbell rock would definitely have an effect on your recovery, stay away....FAR away from cowbell or anything that would affect your recovery time!!

Looks like everyone survived another fester!

Thanks to Near-Fest organizers, our Very Sound Guy, Ben & all who participated.

If anyone has pix or vids, please post the incriminating evidence!

Boy, that was quite a thing! Nice to see that there were some folks who managed to wade through the puddles to get to the jam building, and then had to endure my singing! ;D Seriously, though, thanks to everyone who showed up or tried to make it, and hopefully it won't be quite as wet in the fall.........
