I am sad to report that John A. Hussey, N1OQO, of Pittsfield ME became a silent key on Monday June 20th, 2022.
His long-time friend, Ross, W1EKG, sent the following: ?John graduated from Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park NY in 1975 and attended Graham Jr. College in Boston graduating in 1977. He worked as both engineer and on-air personality for a number of AM radio stations including WWWD in Schenectady, WKOL in Amsterdam NY, WTRY in Troy, New York and WGAN, Portland, Maine . His last job was with the State of Maine as a radio technician working on two-way radio installations. John created and produced the portable radio-controlled public address system we use at NEAR-Fest. He passed away on June 20th 2022 after a lengthy battle with cancer.?
