This is straight out of Monty Python's Flying Circus but it's very real.  Every day the only open highway border crossing between India and Pakistan is ceremoniously closed for the night by elite troops of both the Indian and Pakistani armies.

The two religious groups, Indian Hindus and Pakistani Moslems have been enemies since time immemorial and since each gained independence from Great Britain in 1948 several wars have been fought.
