Double Feature Under The Stars
« on: July 21, 2014, 10:44:18 AM »
Hello all,

It's been a while since I have posted.  I am putting a feeler out to gauge interest in a new Nearfest activity.  It has been something I have recently started in my own backyard.  I am talking about an outdoor movie night presented on a 16x9 foot screen in the relaxation grove area.

A high definition picture will be projected on a 16x9' screen and the stereo sound track will be carried by FM on a clear frequency.  Those who wish to attend can simply bring an FM walkman with headphones and enjoy a "drive-in" style experience complete with high quality stereo sound & 1950-1960's style preshow, intermission, and end show clips for a truly nostalgic experience.

The plan is for this to engage after sundown just after dinner on Saturday evening as an alternative activity to the Ham Jam (if that's still an engaged activity).

Movies selected will be family friendly & will not represent Nearfest's views, etc, but will be purely for entertainment purposes.  A movie list will be posted soon and 2 features will be selected by popular vote based on unique count.

The pre-show and intermission will also have advertisement slot opportunities and sellers/vendors may purchase one of these limited slots.  Any money raised from this will be used to augment the capabilities of the system & or defray any operating costs to put this together.  For advertisements, there are 10 slots available on a first come, first serve basis.

This is a BIG screen and a BRIGHT picture!

Let's see how much interest there is for this, and if there's enough, I can make it happen.
