For Our French-Speaking Friends - - -

You can now set your profile to change the language of the NEAR-Fest Forum software to French.

Here's how:

Click on PROFILE

Click on MODIFY PROFILE - ACCOUNT RELATED SETTINGS

On the RIGHT side of the page you will see your account settings under PROFILE.  In the first block the fiftm item is PREFERRED LANGUAGE.  Use the pull-down box to choose FRENCH.

Then scroll down the page to the bottom, enter your password and click on CHANGE PROFILE.

C'est facile!

Of course the articles and posting will remain in English as the Simple Machines Forum software does not (yet) have the capability of translating from English to French.

Enjoy!

That is correct Mike, the articles and anything I have created on the site was written in English so it will read in English.

The program is working as designed by SMF. When you select in the profile a language , you are selecting the language of the interactive components of the SMF forum. They will be in the language you select.

This site does not have any interpretation software that will convert one language to another, that would have to be done at the user level.

So if you wish to write in French, English, or whatever it will read that way but you can choose what language the forum is operated with.

Confused yet?

G

This of course makes a lot of sense in that SMF is a Canadian company and both English and French are official languages.
