I just got word that our friend, Andy Kirschenbaum, WA2CDL, from West Hempstead NY, became a SK yesterday (Thursday May 4th 2023). He was 70. I was shocked; I saw and chatted with him several times less than a week ago at Deerfield as I made my rounds; he seemed fine. Andy was a regular at NEAR-Fest for many years. He was a kind and gentle soul; a real mensch. He set up a mobile repair shop where he evaluated and fixed radios for free. We will miss him. NEAR-Fest will not be the same without him.
