Door Prizes!!!!!
« on: August 18, 2007, 01:23:39 PM »
Dear NEAR-Fest Attendees:

Here is the list of all the wonderful door prizes we will be doing our best to give away at NEAR-Fest II.  The Closing Ceremonies begins at 2:00PM SHARP on Saturday October 13th 2007 with the Grand and Runner-Up prize drawings following shortly thereafter.

Anyone who passes an amateur radio licensing exam at the NEAR-Fest VE Session will be presented with a special congratulatory admission ticket to NEAR-Fest III being held May 2nd and 3rd 2008.  However, in order to receive their ticket they must present themselves and their documentation from the VE Team at the Closing Ceremonies.

Now, on to the goodies!!!!

The NEAR-Fest II Grand Prize is an ICOM IC-718 HF Transceiver.  This is an outstanding "starter" HF rig for CW, USL, LSB, RTTY (FSK) and AM (sorta).  All you will need to get on the air is a 12 Volt power supply and an antenna.  No, they didn't donate it but ICOM AMERICA and HAM RADIO OUTLET in Salem NH gave us a helluva deal on it and we are happy to have this fine piece of equipment as our grand door prize for NEAR-Fest II.  Please note that you do NOT need to be present to win the Grand Prize so please indicate your address and/or telephone number clearly on your ticket stub.

However, be advised that for the remainder of the Closing Ceremonies and Hourly prize drawings you do need to be there in order to win.

Runner-up door prizes - to be drawn at the Closing Ceremonies .    Again, please note that your presence is required to win.

1.  An Alinco DJ-V17T 2m Walkie Talkie.  This is kinda cool - it's waterproof!!!  Compliments of our friend Evelyn Garrison, WS7A, of ALINCO ELECTRONICS USA.

2.  Courtesy of WEST MOUNTAIN RADIO:  A RIGblaster Plus w/USB $149.95.

3.  RIGtalk USB RIG Control Interface for Icom / Yaesu mini valued at $61.95, also from WEST MOUNTAIN RADIO

The following prizes will be drawn at the following times:

FRIDAY:  10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM , 1:00PM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM

SATURDAY:  9:00, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 1:00PM,

and the winners announced on the three micro-broadcasting stations:

650 KHz

90.5 MHz

103.1 MHz

as well as announced on the PA system in the Relaxation Grove.  Winning numbers will also be posted on the board located at the Show Stage in the same area.  Winners (or their representative) are required to present the ticket with the winning number.  Winners select their prize from the available prizes.  Any prizes unclaimed by 2:00 PM Saturday will be redrawn at the closing ceremonies.    Here is the lineup:
