Two Deerfields in NH?????
« on: October 03, 2007, 05:27:23 PM »
This is kinda crazy but interesting....

Apparently there are two Deerfields in NH, one in Grafton County and the other in Rockingham County.  If you search using Delorme or Microsoft you will find the "other" Deerfield.  It is about 100 miles north of Concord in the White Mountain National Forest just south of Five Corners on Highway 3 near Twin Mountain.  The LAT/Long for this Deerfield is N 44 degrees, 13' 50.7", W 071 degrees, 37' 2.5".

Whatever you do, DON'T GO THERE!  It is just a tract of land privately owned with no Post Office or ZIP Code.   So if you search online using Microsoft Live Search or use DeLorme's mapping program (or even some GPSs) and this comes up you don't want to go to this Deerfield.  I assure you that you won't be happy.

Instead you want to go to the Deerfield that is in Rockingham County.  The ZIP Code is 03037 and the LAT/LONG coordinates are N 43 degrees, 5' 51.8",   W 71 degrees 14' 52.6" .  This is the real Deerfield.  This is where we'll all be on Friday morning getting set to hamfest and party.

If your mapping program/Web site brings up the wrong Deerfield you might want to notify them.
