Special Events Station
« on: April 29, 2008, 12:52:23 PM »
Hi !

For the past few years, I've been doing a class E special events station at Nearfest  ;D

However, this year I don't think I'm going to be able to do it, although I'll have to see  :-[  I've been unwell for the past few weeks (nothing communicable, so don't worry !!), but I am in a very weakened state.  I had thought I would have recovered by now, such is not the case.

So, just for this year, I probably won't set up unless I start feeling a whole lot stronger.  This getting old crap really stinks!!!  Should still be able to make the 'fest, but probably will have to sleep on and off througout the day.  Let me tell you, this is just plain lousy.

Not that the station was a main-stay of the 'fest, but it was kind of nice to have.  There will be other stations there, so we will certainly be represented.  Well, in any event, it will certainly be back in the Fall.

Regards,

Steve

Steve,

At least you are attending...  that's what's important.  The station is just the icing on the cake.

Best wishes for a fast recovery and hopefully a station setup.

I may be able to enlist some help, and if so, I will probably proceed with the station as planned  ;D

I don't know right now, but I'm working hard to have something there!

Steve

Steve,

That's great news.  I wasn't able to make it to Deerfield in the fall, but I was there last May.  Were you the one who ran the special event station over near the Relaxation Grove area of the fairgrounds?  Just curious.

See you all the day after tomorrow!

Hmmm... That might have been me.  I was in the relaxation area for 1 year, then moved to the "AM corral" after that.

The station was an AM station, with a class E transmitter and an old "boatanchor" type of receiver :-)

Steve

Steve,

I will throw the Command Set ARC-5 MOBILE Station in to the VENIKLE and give you a shout on the way in! Solid state Modulator on the ARC-5 IRF-840's Class B Baby!

Yo Stevo - found some coils of rope in the area where you had the station set up, probably from your ant? KW1I now has them and will get them back to you.
