Hi everyone!
It's gettin' close.

On Wednesday I'll put a feeler out as to who's coming, what instrument they play and what they're bringing for equipment.

I don't think we'll be able to play on the outdoor stage unless ...

It's warm and not raining (the last 2 near-fests were close to 40 degrees)
It's mostly acoustic.
We start early and then stop at some set time (say @ 9:30 to 10pm) then move the jam inside.
That's a lot of work and I'm not sure it's worth the hassle. Chime in and let me know what you think.

It might be possible to start the jam early (say 8 or 8:30) depending on weather. If it raining and or cold I'd like to start early. If it's warm and clear we'd start at 8:30 to 9pm.

Jam time is over when:  our fingers bleed, our throats give out, liquid mood altering nectar runs dry, the chronic is gone,  the local populace band together and force us out of town or we run out of music to play.
So, to put it another way; When I say. I'm thinking sometime between 1 and 3am. Could be later or earlier depending on stamina, age, intoxicants consumed and well when we crap out.

Now the legal mumbo-jumbo
After the jam everyone involved helps clean up.
We  remove the equipment and we put the room back in order for the mornings meeting/tests/lectures/etc.

No equipment is to be stored in the building.

There is NO SMOKING in the building.
You want to fire up; Then take it outside.

Anyone gets nasty or out of hand, we sick "Pauly the Enforcer" on the culprit.
He and his band of merry men (think Scarface) will remove the perp and hog-tie him/her and leave them to cool off in the "relaxation groove" to the amusement of passerby. Bring a camera for these and other cherished Kodak moments!!

Any questions or concerns, email me at bshaban@beld.net

See you Friday.

As of now, I'll be bringing a keyboard, small Peavey amp and the necessary cables needed to wire up the toilet seat.......I'll have a couple of mikes and other doo-dads but those will mostly be used for the wok-fi transmission so our mighty sound will be heard far beyond our little room.
Brian and Rick and eveyone:  The chord charts will be a huge help....I know some of the songs but never really played them so those will be much appreciated.

See y'all Friday night

Hello all again:

If anyone needs space to place store and lock equipment inside overnight, please let me know. I can provide a dry and secure enclosed trailer, but if I do I also need to bring another vehicle. There's plenty of space inside but I'm not going to incur the additional expense of bringing it if there's not a need.

Right now I'm planning to bring the 16 ch mixer, mics, cables, my SRM-450 speakers and stands, some mic stands, extension cords, and some of the lights. If they are useful, great! If not, oh well, better to have and not need.

I also have spoken to N1VAR, who is a quite competent guitar-playing kinda guy who has expressed an interest in participating, so hopefully that works out.

Well, It's Wednesday night; I'm gonna start pulling my stuff together.

I got my guitar, amp, guitar chords, picks, strap, extra stings (broke one last near-fest) big ass power strip, 2 roland kc-100 amps, chord/lyric sheets, mic, mic stand and cable? What am I missing???????? Crap....talent.

So, how about a shout as to who's coming?
I know Adam and  John D are coming. I'm hoping Rick is gonna be there with his  Axl Rose voice, guitar and electro-drum kit.

Setup will be between 8 and 8:30.

Steve (w1es) and Mike, are you gonna make it? How about Mike (N1IW) Cliff and Ben????

I won't be able to be there till say 2pm
Look for me near the entertainment building, trying to scoop that usb mic, eating some lobster chowder or just blasting around.

See you Friday

I'm going to be at the Fest again and I'm going to try to make it to the jam.  I play keys.  If I have a pencil and paper I can write down what I need and can pretty much follow most anything.  I said that I would be there last year and I backed out at the last minute.  The day got to me and I crashed in the back of my truck.  You guys put me to sleep.  I woke up with a start when I realized that you had stopped.
I'll bring some of my cheat sheets and can go from there.
I'm going to have the group of guys that I'm with kick me in the butt if I don't get over there the to jam.
See you there.

Well I got the Good word from the grand Poo-bah (Mr. Mike) himself.

If we want we can start the jam on the outside stage.
I'm thinking @7- 7:30pm start time but earlier could be possible if I get enough feedback.
I'd like to start out acoustic... Where's our Bluegrass/County/folk players? how about the sole/duet players?
If no one steps up, we'll rock it till our hands turn blue then move it inside.

See you Friday,

Bri

P.S. I really hope Rick is bringing those drums. If not, does anyone else have a set to bring?

Hello:

Will be there either Thursday night or Friday morning.

I am NOT planning to bring the trailer at this time.

But I am bringing a selection of audio equipment as previously mentioned that hopefully will be helpful.

Looking forward to it!

To Ben KB1NZN,
Hi, Are you deffinatelly going to be there friday night? Are you bringing the PA equip. you mentioned in your last post? Can I just run the drums through it? (one channel is all it needs!) Also will you or anyone else have an extra mic stand that I may use? I'm trying to save space cuz the drum set takes quite a bit of room!
thanks,
rick

I personally wanted to say thank you to Brian for all the hard work and effort put in for this
season's jam. Also thank you Mr. Mike for allowing this event to happen. It wouldn't be
possible without you.

It was a blast to jam with everyone! A few pulled a few rabbits out of your hats! - Thanks!

I look forward to attending the next Jam.

To all that were there,
I really enjoyed participating in the Jam.  It was a little hard for a firsttimer to get the music down.  I definitely will get more stuff together for the next session.  Maybe a swap of tabs that we all have, 10 or 15 as not to overburden the system too much.  That way we all can practice what we know or want to do.

Bri, I applaude you in your efforts to get this together.  It's a lot of fun to get together with other hams and show off the other stuff that we can do.

I hope to be able to make the spring show.  All keep in touch.

Something else.  Several people were taking pictures of the jam session group.  I was wondering if those people could either post the pictures or email them to me.  Really I'm looking for one that would show me sitting at the keyboard.  I couldn't get one of myself so I hope to find one that somebody else took.  I need it for my clubs newsletter.  Thanks in advance.

Hey,

Did anyone get any photos or videos of the jam? If so, would you be interested in making
them available?
