I'll be there in the camper from Thursday afternoon through Saturday, so any time & any place is fine.

Monkeying with Fishin' & Payday & other things this week. It will be good to work out a few things in advance... to fingerpick or strum?... slow down the tempo or pick it up? Sonds like fun.

No, no, no, Bri, you misunderstood me.  I said call over to the Entertainment building.  I never meant to use the building during the day for  a practice.  If I remember last fall, I think Cliff camped out on the back side of the building.  I just thought it would be a good place to meet and then go from there.  Let me know what's happening. :-\

Hey Greg,
No problem.
Actually I'd love to get together earlier and work on stuff.
If we can do it outside or in someones tent/trailer/etc. that will work just fine.
It would be even better if we could get the entertainment building a few hours earlier.
A practice "in the space"
But we'll see.
Stay tuned.

Ok my musical Brothers & Sisters,
The official word from Mr. Mike is:

The Entertainment Building is used for forums.
The last one of the day begins at 5:00 PM and could go for more than an hour.
Once that forum is over you may certainly have at it.
I'll talk to the presenter and find out approximately how long he thinks it will be.

That pretty much brings us in @ 7pm.
At least that's how it's been in the past.
And that time is usually setup time for the real deal.
If we want to get together to work out logistics, etc it'll have to be in someones tent/trailer/ or open air next to the Entertainment building.

Lets wait till a day or two before the fest before choosing a location/time. Weather and other factors change plans daily.

Whatcha wanna do about food? I think it was a hit last year. I will bring it again like last time or we can all bring something - doesn't make any difference to me. I'm easy, (just don't tell Ben!!) LOL.

Sounds like a plan!  If the weather is cooperative and it is warm you can also use the stage and grandstand.  However if you set up on the stage while the forum is in session you need to be mindful that the noise level must be low so as not to disturb them.

Just as a reminder, ThePirateShip 95.1FM will broadcast the Jam on the radio as we've done in the past.  Does anyone know if the dude with the PA will be there to give us an audio pickup or will we have to bring equipment?

I now have an extra computer to record the jam (finally) as last time I tried doing it and the machine crapped out.

If the dude with the PA will be there, then the recording quality will be stellar as we had an awesome L,R, & L+R stereo pickup from his board.

See y'all there, & don't forget, if yur camping out Thursday night, tune us in & Adam will entertain you with classic rock on vinyl as well as Old Time Radio late Thursday night on 95.1FM Stereo.

Well, It's officially two weeks away!

Has everyone learned their songs yet?
I'm still working and refining things.

Any questions before all the mayhem starts?

If not, we'll see you there!

Bri and the rest of the musical troubadours of the NEAR-Fest Jam VII,
I just picked up a new keyboard.  No it's not a Hammond, unfortunately, but it has some pretty good sounds and should work just fine.  I'm also bringing a practice amp for it so I should be able to be heard.  I'm looking forward to the Jam.
Catch ya!!

8 days to go.
Can you taste it?

Can people give me an idea of what they're bringing for equipment?

Thanks,

Bri

I have a new QRP guitar rig. I'll have both tubes blazing for a full 5 watts of sonic mayhem. (If I can cajole someone to cover for me at work.)
I can bring a spare guitar, bass, or amp if anyone needs one - let me know.

See y'all soon (hopefully),

I'll be there with my own keyboard....i'm gonna jack our big boombox off the 'pirate ship' stage and use it for my 'amp'.....I may even try to get by with the built in keyboard speakers if the other amps stay small enough.

....Oh, an Alvarez single cuttaway acoustic/electric, the dot studio Epiphone, the '64 Mustang, a Washburn travel guitar...and the Pignose 1/4 stack... that should cover it... ::)
