i plan on bringing my washburn guitar, music stand, mike stand, mike, and maybe a boom box rigged as an amp for vocals. I was hoping to sing dock of the bay and maybe house of the rising sun. I was hoping to make another small amp like the wooden one i had last year but havnt had the time to do it. Really looking forward to the hamfest and the jam.

Assuming I can fit it into my car (TBD), I'll be bringing my upright bass
and one electric.

Any of the songs that have already been posted to date.

So has anyone learned the second (upper) bass part for Walk On The Wild Side yet?
It's all on the G-String  ;D  around the 12'th fret area.

Ok you Festering bunch,
Were coming down to the wire. Less than 2 days to go.
I got a fevah' that can only be satisfied by a jam with a heapin' helpin' of cowbell.
Tyler and I will be coming up Friday mid day.
I'm bringing an acoustic, small amp and well.... read the rest for what else.

At this point I'd like to give a heads up as to what you should bring (if your playing) and what you may want to leave at home.

General Info:
The Jam will start between 7:30 and 8:30 dependin' on if the moon is in the right phase, the creek don't rise and the good lord (guy with the building key) is willing to let us in.
End time will be when we want it to. Could be 10:30pm, could be 2am.
I'll be coordinating the jam. Generally Some people will play a few songs then sit out while someone else plays. If there's a hole (bass player/drummer, etc) I may ask that person to stay up.
Please sit out every now and then and give another player some stage time. I may ask you to sit out if your bogartin' the situation.

The weather will be fantastic.
If the temps hold out maybe we can play out on the stage.
Or  maybe we can do a little afternoon "stage practice" if there's no planned event in the entertainment building.

There is no storage for equipment before or after the jam.
Bring your own instrument and SMALL amp unless you've made plans to borrow from someone else.
Were trying to go acoustic this time.
On the subject of amps. It's not a big space; 5-15 watt amps will fill the place and cause ears to bleed. So leave the  800 Jigawatt marshall at home. We want to hear all the players not just the over amplified.

Drums
No acoustic drum kit this time. I will be bringing a Roland TD-6 kit with an SMALL amp.

Misc.
Also, bring a little extra stuff in case a fellow musician forgot. Like picks, capo, guitar strings, power strips, mic, mic cable and stand, music stand, etc. I like cash so bring plenty for me.
Please let me know what equipment your bringing so I can work logistics. 16 cowbells and no sticks to hit them with is just wrong.

John and Adam:Will bring the music to you on your FM dial (95.1) in Glorious Technicolor Dolby 60.1 surround full release massage via the famous Wok-Fi!. Where else but Near-Fest!!!.

The P.A.
Will be limited this time. I'll be bringing a 4 mic input mixer (unless Ben would like me to bring a Yamaha Promix 01) as well as 2 Roland keyboard amps.
1 amp is for vocals and 1 for the drums.
Please bring a mic, mic cable and stand if you have one.

Anti-Dick clause
Please Don't be a dick
Do come early or stay late to help us set up or break down.
If I have to ask you to help; Your a dick. Don't make me ask.

Bring lyrics/chord sheets of songs you want to play.
Musicians need to remove their equipment right after the jam ends. The building needs to be put back in order and locked. No equipment will be allowed to stay in the building overnight.

Thanks and see you at the jam.

Thank You Bri!

If we all keep in mind that it's just a large living room things will be cool!
And if we listen to each other....then it's music!

Can't wait!

I'll leave the B3 at home ;D...and bring the CX3 and an acoustic guitar. If anyone is around Thurs and wants to jam in the trailer area I'll be there. Might even bring the midi bass pedal rig I made but it's a pita to move..

I'm not staying overnight this year, but I will be there mid to late Friday afternoon, then running home again after the jam....

work schedule  :(

Bri, I know you were tried to reach me yesterday...sorry. Life's been a little crazy lately.

See you tomorrow!

Yes! Thanks to Bri for moderating this gathering. Sorry I had to duck in and out, but things were "happening." Didn't get around to singing anything, but there seemed to be enough singers willing to step up and I was a bit worn out anyway. I'm warmed up for N-Fest VIII now! Adam: good stuff on Floyd! And the fiddle player... can't remember your name but that was nice!

Yes, thanks Bri and everyone for great playing and helping me lug the cx3! Adam, your Farfisa sounded killer. I used to have a Compact Duo . Played left hand bass in trios with that till it died. Digital stuff will never replace that vibe. Now if I could find a Vox Continental..
