Topic: VE Exams at Near Fest VII

The VE exams will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday May 1 2010.
The exam fee is $15.00
Please bring the original and a copy of your current FCC license
Please bring the original and a copy of any CSCE you are claiming

The exams will be in the meeting room of the Arts and Crafts building.
The building is shown as #7 on the NEAR Fest map
The entrance to the meeting room is at the rear of the building.

Please note that "walk-ins" are welcome at our VE Sessions.  Just bring  $15 and original + 1 copy of your License (if you have one) and TWO forms of identification with one of them a picture ID.

If you check the ARRL Web site you will notice ALL exam sessions are listed as "NO Walk ins"  That is a F*CK up by the ARRL web designers.

They are supposedly trying to figure out how to fix it.  We fail to understand why that should take them more than 10 minutes to change it.  Ask your Section Manager why this is not being done - It makes more work for those examining teams that want to accommodate "walk-ins" to theur sessions.

Anyone who successfully passes an amateur radio licensing exam for the first time will receive a complimentary admission ticket to NEAR-Fest VIII with our compliments.  The VE Team will be provided with a number of special passes so if you are successful in earning your first licence just ask for yours.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO UPGRADES.

Good luck and remember - we all sat in that seat at one time or another.
