One of the NEAR-Fest Team members, Ken Rust, KB1PRV, passed away peacefully at 6:20 AM Thursday January 6th 2011 after a courageous battle with illness.  His wife was with him when he died.  Ken is survived by his wife and best friend Mai-Chi and twin five year-old daughters Christie and Katie as well as his sister, Coleen, his brother Mark and a daughter, Malisa, who lives in the Los Angeles area.

He was born in Beverly, MA on September 22, 1951, son of William and Phyllis Rust.  Ken worked as a project manager in the construction both in the US and overseas.

Mister Mike, W1RC and Timtron, WA1HLR, attended the memorial service that was held for Kenny at Derry NH on Tuesday January 11th 2011 representing NEAR-Fest.   Kenny loved our hamfester and was a Commercial Building Superintendent at NEAR-Fest III, IV and V.

Kenny will be sadly missed at NEAR-Fest.  We offer our most sincere condolences to his family.  May he rest in peace.

73,

MrMike
