Hey Festers, Hipsters, Mobsters and Hamsters,

Were baaaack and we wanna play!
For starters look at past posts if you've never played the fest before.

All the regulars (and you know who you are): all the usual stuff applies.
I'll check with the better half (The Mrs.) and see if we can co-ordinate a practice to shake off some cobwebs.

Sooooo, Who wants ta play?

Hey Hammer-Jammers,
Were less than a month away and I'm wondering who's coming to Near-Fest and more important; WHO'S COMING TO JAM???
Here the useful news you can use.

General Info:
The Jam will start between 7:30 and 8:30 dependin' on if the moon is in the right phase, the creek don't rise and the good lord (guy with the building key) is willing to let us in.
End time will be when we want it to. Could be 10:30pm, could be 2am.
I'll be coordinating the jam. Generally Some people will play a few songs then sit out while someone else plays. If there's a hole (bass player/drummer, etc) I may ask that person to stay up.
Please sit out every now and then and give another player some stage time. I may ask you to sit out if your bogartin' the situation.

If the temps hold out maybe we can play out on the stage.
Or  maybe we can do a little afternoon "stage practice" if there's no planned event in the entertainment building.

There is no storage for equipment before or after the jam. (other than your own car/camper/etc)

Bring your own instrument, cables, stand, pedals and amp unless you've made plans to borrow from someone else.
On the subject of amps. It's not a big space. 5-25 watt amps will fill the place and cause ears to bleed. So leave the  800 Jigawatt Marshall  with 8- 12" at home. We want to hear all the players not just the over amplified.

P.A.
I'm hoping Ben, Jenny and Andrea are bringing the PA, but I haven't heard yet.

Drums:
I don't know if someones bringing a kit or electronic set this time.
Anyone want to chime in on this one?

Misc.
Also, bring a little extra stuff in case a fellow musician forgot. Like picks, capo, guitar strings, power strips, mic, mic cable and stand, music stand, etc. I like cash so bring plenty for me.
Please let us know what equipment your bringing so I can work logistics. 16 cowbells and no sticks to hit them with just begs for a tongue thrashing.

Anti-Dick clause
Please Don't be a dick.
Do come early or stay late to help us set up or break down.
If I have to ask you to help; Your a dick. Don't make me ask.
Don't hog the mic, play on endlessly or play way louder just cause you can. That's just dick
If I'm being a dick I have a 2 person notification clause. That means 2 non-related people have to tell me and I'll cease and desist..or at least chill a bit.

Bring lyrics/chord sheets of songs you want to play.
Musicians need to remove their equipment right after the jam ends. The building needs to be put back in order and locked. No equipment will be allowed to stay in the building overnight.

Thanks and see you at the jam.

Hey all, DICK here,... I mean RICK here..... Almost time to break a string!
Couple things guys!

I will plan to bring the "Ham Jam" drum kit, unless someone comes forward who plans to definitely bring their own electronic kit. As always, all are welcome to play it!

Wow! I like that "ham Jam!".   Mmmmm tasty!!!     Eeeeeew!

Also, I will post very soon the "setlist of songs that we have played somewhat sucessfully, in the past!"
List list includes, who sang what! I think its helpful stuff to know!

Mr. Mike, and or Brian, if there is anything else I can do to help out please let me know!

Looking forward to another great get together!

Rick

Hey Rick,
Great to hear!!
I'll post a "somewhat sucessfull" list as well as we often play in different groups/sets.

"Mr. Mike, and or Brian, if there is anything else I can do to help out please let me know!"

Well, I still don't know if we have a P.A. and operators or not.

Anyone want to step up???

If not we go instrumental. After hearing Rick sing that might be a good thing.

My bad...After hearing me sing.
My bad 2...After hearing Raj sing
My bad..... After hearing anyone sing......

Chime in Play-ahhs!

I can't wait for the jam! Got the big red Farfisa tuned up, finally, so it won't be quite as out of tune as it had been at previous jams! Granted, I'll still be the one behind the keys, so whether the re-tuning will matter much is debatable...

I'm up to singing once again, if need be. Hopefully, I'll manage to remember the words! Keep the lyrics sheets handy, just in case...

Hey all;

We got an email from Ben on our Pirate Ship email thread; we're almost 100% sure they will be coming.  Got a FB from Andrea last week saying she was stoked for the fest  ;D  So anyway:

I will have a keyboard and stuff set up; anyone is welcome to jam on it as always.  I will do my usual stand-in on skins for when we don't have a 'real' drummer....LOL.....Now that Adam's/my old Farfisa is tuned up, I definitely want to try that out too!

Rick, I'd probably plan on bringing your electronic kit anyway....I'll set up one of my boomboxes for a 'drum monitor' behind the PA.

Hmm what else:  John won't be with us this Fester; so Ben and I will try to figure out how to get the jam on the air.  If we get it, great; if not then oh well.  I saw Raj at MIT last week, pretty sure he'll be there too.

Guess that's it for now!  ;D

Hey Festers and Jammers,
I won't be able to join you all this fest as a very close family member has passed away and I need to make the arrangements.
Push on and hopefully I can make it in the fall.
If someone could record it and send me the link I would be grateful.
Don't forget to help Ben, Jenny and Andrea set up and brake down the P.A.

Best,

Bri
