Wow, we are 2 weeks away and there has not been a peep. I won't bitch without acknowledging my own silence.

C'mon folks. The only thing that will kill Near Fest and the epic ham jam is Indifference.
Please let brother Rick, Mister Mike, and all the other great people that bust their butts and make this happen know that they are appreciated.

Show up, sell stuff, buy stuff, bitch less, and let's have another great Near Fest.

I'm in.

73, John AC2XN

Thank you Rick,
I can bring a bass. It won't be of the caliber of the amazing Scotty or the other John who always brought great equipment.
I bought a decent Mex P-bass at Near Fest recently. It has remained in the bag since. I am volunteering to handle bass duties if no one better shows up. If no one more skilled chimes in, you might be screwed, or amazed - who knows.

You may be thinking "Oh Shit" and with good reason. I will find, borrow, or buy a decent bass amp for the fest.
I am in. Who else?

PS. I am planning to bring my Les Paul and a decent small tube amp - just in case...

I am sick with a cold but am planning on going.  I'll be busy from 8:45 - 11:00 so I'm hoping for guest drummers during that time.  I'll bring the set and a block.  Let me know if we need anything else.

Well, my P-bass from the last hamfest turned out to be a dud - no output. I guess I need to be less trusting in the future. I fixed it by resoldering a wire on the pickup. My old Fender bass amp didn't work either, so I grabbed an old Peavey garage sale find from my brother's barn. that had a blown speaker. I threw in a Celestion guitar speaker from another project amp. It has been an ordeal, but I have a working bass rig. Does anyone have an old song list or recording from a recent jam?
Do we know what building we will be In?

See everybody on Friday.

Thank you!
Another great Near-Fest & Jam everyone!

Everything went smoothly!
I couldn't ask for a better jam session.
It was nice to see everyone doing their best to help each other too.
Made for a quick, easy pack up and clean up!

Special thanks to Bill for bringing the electronic drums, John for his bass rig!,
and all those that sang, played, or just stuck around to listen for a while!

Also, On behalf of everone involved, a big thank you to Mr. Mike and The Team
for allowing us the comfort of a nice warm building to Ham Jam in!

Have a great Spring and Summer!

Boy, that was fun! ;D Thanks to everyone who joined in or tried to join in, and to everyone who put up with my attempts at keyboard playing and singing. Can't wait for the next one; who knows, if things go well, I might try bringing one of my Farfisa organs with me once again! ;)

PS: Someone in the audience posted a video of our jamming on YouTube! I'm not sure if this forum has a way to embed videos, so here's a link:
