Near-Fest V Jam Thank You!!!
« on: May 05, 2009, 07:36:43 PM »
I'd like to thank all the people, both in front of and behind the scene who make the jam happen.

First up, Mr. Mike and the Near-Fest staff: Thanks for having the Fest and letting us use the entertainment building.
They really deserve a round of applause!!

John and Adam: Wok-Fi, Pirate station, Announcers, Prize givers. Great guys who bend over backwards to help.

Ben and his hard working family for the awesome PA and lights. Wicked pissah!

The Un-named band: Lets name em now!

John D. on bass/vocal
Cliffy on guitar/slide
Don on guitar and mucho vocal
John T on drums
Adam on keys
Bri on guitar and vocal

These guys drove many miles to practice at my place over the winter. It's been a pleasure to play with these guys and I hope we play together for many fests to come.

The Jammers: Besides the un-named guys, we had several jammers step up to play.

John on guitar: He came to the last 2 previous jams but didn't play. I thought "what's up here?" Well all i know is he played this time and he was a monster!

Taylor on bass: He returned to help us on some Creedence and a blues in A. Keep at it Taylor and come back in the fall.

Scott on bass/vocal

Bill (Scotts' Bro) drums

Raj on guitar/vocal

Rhode Island guy - (sorry don't remember your name) guitar

Will S:  guest vocal on Behind blue eyes

mystery drummer  (sorry never got  your name) drums

The audience who came, clapped, sang along and endured the tough moments.

Our radio audience who tuned in, turned on and dropped out.

If I've missed someone please let me know!! I'll correct it.

Hope to see, hear and play with you all in the fall.
Keep watching the Fest web site.
I post from time to time.

Thanks again,

Bri

P.S.   BTW,  I did hit the record button this time. I may post the audio files sometime next week if there's interest.

Brian - we thank you and all those who make this wonderful aspect of NEAR-Fest possible.  Hope you all want to do it again at NEAR-Fest VI in October.

73,

MisterMike and the rest of the NEAR-Fest gang

the 'mystery drummer' was KB1NXL of Lowell, MA - Rick Tedesco.  I played years ago in three bands, two of them actually professional!  No, never did learn "50 ways..." but, not that bad for zero rehearsal time!  Need to play more 60's 70's tunes - the Hits vs obscure (to me) Beatles tunes.  I had a blast!!  and those brand new drums were fantastic!  Yamaha all the way - great sound!!
