Near-Fest gladly accepts checks from our fellow Hams and commercial vendors for payment of tickets, table / chair rentals snd inside vendor space.
However we have had some issues with checks being returned for "insufficient funds".
So the policy for bounced checks is as follows.
1. A $25.00 charge will be added to the outstanding balance for any check returned from the bank.
2. Anyone who does not respond to our request for payment within 30 days will be banned from the event for 1 year.
(By respond, I mean just that. Have the courtesy to reply to our request. Maybe your bank screwed up. There are a number of reasons why a check might bounce, but reply to our inquiry and tell us what's going on).
3. Anyone who doesn't respond after 90 days (without good reason) will be banned from Near-Fest. We have never had to do this yet, but once someone is banned........... That's it...It's Over....Don't Come Back!!!!
The goal here is to keep Near-Fest going strong and not worry about chasing people for payment..
