Hey Festers,
Bri here and I'm gettin itchy ta play wit-cha.

Ohhh it's so close. 7 days and counting.
Can you feel it?

At this point most players know if they're coming.
So, can I get a witness??  (head count)
Who's coming and what they're bringing?

I'll be bringing the following:
guitar, my usual combo amp, mike, mike stand, cables, power strip,
guitar and music stand, patch cables,
song chord/lyric sheets for the song's I may play, extra strings, misc. music stuff.

I will not be bringing monitor amps or drums this time.
Is someone bringing a kit?
How about horns?

BTW My version of 1979 is in E, not Eb.
Just though John D. might want to know ;)

Keep in mind the "stage area" gets pretty filled up with the PA equipment and the Wok-Fi table so space can be tight.
So please leave the JCM 900 Marshal amps  with the 4-15" speakers at home.
A singe 10-12" combo amp is more than adequate. Or, consider sharing an amp with another player.

I'll be adding more as we get closer to the Fest.

Stay tuned!

Bri

Hi All!

Bri if no one else is planning to bring a kit, I can bring my electronic kit. If anyone is planning on bringing drums just let me know!

If it turns out that I do bring mine, we'll need some drummers to sit in! I can only play drums for so long. Besides I'm more of a guitar kinda guy!

I'm planning to bring a guitar/Small amp/cords/mic/mic stand/some lyrics/easy to follow tabbbed songs/& a guitar strap(remember the time I forgot one!)

Looking forward to it!!

I'll be there with my big red Farfisa (hopefully tuned up a bit better than the last coupla times), it's amp, a cable, and a power strip. I can once again sing vocals, if needed. Can't wait!  ;D

It's looking like we'll be there starting Thursday afternoon with our usual collection of equipment to help ensure everyone is heard and we get a nice mix on the air as well. And, Jenny is planning on trying to have a pizza party for everyone (or at least as many as we can feed with the several pizzas we will bring to share), so ignore the forecast and come anyway!!

See ya there...

-Ben

I just got out of the hospital after a 5-day stay (a viral thing and also pneumonia).  Felled me for three weeks.
So... I don't think I'll be at the jam after all.  My original plan was to bring my camper and spend Friday night, but given the wx forecast and my weakened condition, I'll probably skip this year and just come on Saturday to try to snag a deal or two.

Looks like there'll be plenty of keyboards there anyway.

  Have a great time, all;

Bummer for both things.

...You'll have to make it a point to come in the spring. :)

Sorry to hear Lonnie won't make it.
Everyone else will just have to play better to fill the void.

Lonnie,
Get better and join us in the spring!!!!

Screw the rain. I got a raincoat an' umbrella and i'm packin with one hand and writing this note with the other hand.
Packed my amp, guitar an' mike. lets PLAY!!
It should be over by 11am. To prove it, I'll wear a hawaiian shirt.

I'm bringing two propane heaters for sale for some lucky person to keep warm.
1 is a RV catalytic type 4800 BTU used.
The other is a 20,000 BTU home type. never used.
See me by the entertainment building if your interested.
Neither includes plumbing or propane tanks. Bring your own.

See you tomorrow,

Bri, no Ty

John T. (nebula) mentioned in an earlier post that he is bringing his electronic kit.
If you want to bring yours for peace of mind as a back up you could.
He mentioned on his fb page that he will definitely be there too.

To Bri and all the Fest Jammers,
I hope you had a great jam!!  Sorry I couldn't make it but between the weather and other commitments it just didn't happen.  I'm hoping for the spring but my daughter is getting married in May and there's a lot going on around then but time will tell.
Hopefully I'll see you all then!  Have a great holiday season and a safe and warm winter!
Catch ya!!

Near-Festers,
This is the Big Thank You post.

First I want to thank Ben, Jenny, Andrea and Julie.
They brought, set up, manned, broke down the P.A. and made a ton of food which was open to everyone at the jam.
All at their own expense. It was a gracious giving act.

Next I'd like to thank all the players who made it, make it happen, played it, sang it and helped.
You guys are all the best.
I had a blast trying some new stuff that I'd never played or sang before. Yeah I/we probably butchered some songs beyond recognition, but hey; This is Near-Fest.

The audience was great too. The clapped when it was good and even when it faltered.
Thanks for letting us play for you. Most of us don't get a chance to play before a live crowd (might be a good reason for some of that).

Last of course we should thank Mr. Mike. He and his crew gave us back the ham fest and that opened the opportunity for us to jam again.

I'm looking forward to next springs fest.

Have a great winter and see you in the spring.

Best,

Brian
